When creating hardscaping objects provided with a horizontal base, installers clear the site and deepen it, if necessary.

When cladding wearing and non-wearing vertical surfaces, installers plant embeds, that is rebar rods of various diameters, to a depth of 3-20 cm, adding tile adhesive or nitrocellulose mixture at the base, depending on surface type and construction area. For metal surfaces, installers weld rods to the surface.

When creating hardscaping provided with a horizontal base, welders prepare a "float" foundation that does not require planting into the ground and allows for the product to be mobile. The arrangement of the "float" foundation minimizes the risk for the sculpture to tip over and also allows for its transportation it in the future, if necessary.

When cladding vertical surfaces, artists apply artistic markings on the base surface under the approved sketch, which allows to picture the drawing on the cladding.

Sculptor welders set the desired shape of the metal "skeleton" with account of all the features of the sculpture's individual parts. The reinforcement cage features both high strength and unique appearance, showing the structural features of the sculptural composition at this work stage. Auxiliary workers attach the woven wire mesh to the reinforcement cage. To increase the metal's service life, they also apply primer to the reinforcement cage to prevent corrosion and decay.
